What is the opportunity?

RBC Automotive Finance provides a full spectrum of financial services to Canadian Automotive, RV, and other dealers. Our client base includes manufacturers, auto dealers, RV & Marine dealers, daily rental & leasing businesses, original equipment manufacturers (OEM), and single vehicle purchasers. As a Dealer Service Associate you will be part of the Commercial and Retail Auto Finance businesses and will manage an assigned geographic region. The successful candidate will support our business and clients in Western Canada and thus will be required to work in the business hours associated with Pacific Standard Time. You will ensure credit facility administration is managed in compliance with agreements and policies, inventory audits are cleared according to policy, and required documentation and approvals are obtained for retail dealers. As a client facing advisor you will positively contribute to the overall client experience through your interactions with Auto Finance clients.

What will you do?

  • Demonstrate an ability to see the bigger picture, aligning day-to-day tasks with long-term goals and cross functional priorities

  • Exercise a holistic approach, understanding how your work impacts and integrates with the broader objectives of Auto Finance, and RBC overall

  • Maintain RV purchase order/invoice information, ensuring volume is within approved credit lines and prepare invoices for payment processing

  • Maintain Delayed Payment Privilege (DPP) information, prepare daily reporting, process extensions as per approved policy and collect payouts as required

  • Complete searches (i.e. credit bureaus, PPSA, Bank Act, AML, etc.), maintain/process insurance information and prepare time-critical monetary transactions for commercial clients

  • Complete client facing activities including responding to client inquiries, supporting lease facilities and providing system training

  • Responsible for system administration including maintenance

  • Clear inventory audits timely and accurately, in accordance with policy

  • Obtain and review all documentation and searches, obtaining approvals and ensuring all policy parameters have been met, in order to enroll retail dealers and maintain dealer profiles. Prepare requests for processing and maintain status of each request.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and partners to support clients and our business goals.

  • Keep all stakeholders informed of any issues or potential increased exposure

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • An ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicting demands while meeting all required deadlines

  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, particularly in applications such as Excel and Access; and strong computer skills overall

  • Demonstrated experience in customer service/ working with clients

  • Detail oriented and ability to work with large data sets

Nice to have:

  • Automotive finance experience and/or knowledge of auto dealership/leasing company operations

  • Knowledge of RBC-leveraged systems and technology, including Synergy, Overdrive, DealerTrack/RouteOne, and Turnpike

  • Undergraduate degree in business or related field

  • Bilingual (Fluent in French / English languages)
