Job summary

A leading cloud service provider in Toronto is seeking a DC IT Technician to ensure the functioning of data center infrastructure. Responsibilities include optimizing server racks, troubleshooting technical issues, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. Ideal candidates have a background in IT with experience maintaining computer systems and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Physical capability to work flexible hours is essential.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience of building and maintaining computers.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to datacenter systems architecture and ensure 1st level of support.
  • Optimize the racks for new servers.
  • Connect power and network cables within server and network racks.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues using various tools: network, servers.
  • Help maintain good customer relations and customer satisfaction on a daily basis.

Skills

A keen interest in IT and computer hardware products/components
Effective problem-solving abilities
Fluency in English
Physically capable and available to work weekends, public holidays, and evenings

Education

Post-secondary or equivalent qualification in electronics/IT/Maintenance

As a member of the DC Operations team and reporting to the Datacenter Manager, the DC IT Technician ensures the proper functioning of the data center infrastructure by securing the equipment's installation and maintenance, which guarantees the equipment’s continuity of service.
