Job summary

Q1 Technologies, Inc. in Brampton, ON is seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to maintain and optimize SQL Server and Azure SQL environments in a hybrid, 2-3 days work-from-office setup. The role requires 7+ years of DBA and development experience.

You will monitor performance, ensure availability and security, implement HA/DR, and develop ETL pipelines with SSIS and ADF. Strong knowledge of Azure services and CI/CD is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of SQL Server DBA and Database Development experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Managed Instance environments.
• Monitor database performance; availability; security; and capacity.
• Implement and manage HA/DR solutions including Always On Availability Groups; replication; backup; recovery.
• Perform database patching; upgrades; migrations; and maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to performance; locking; blocking; connectivity.
• Database Development: Design and develop T-SQL objects including Stored Procedures; Functions; Views; Triggers.
• Optimize SQL queries; indexing strategies; and execution plans.
• Develop and support ETL processes using SSIS and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
