We are seeking a skilled and motivated System DBA Support professional with expertise in DB2 LUW database platforms to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing DB2 LUW databases on Linux systems, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Perform DBA administrative activities including database creation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Participate in the physical design, modeling, and implementation of databases.
• Apply modifications to tables and views as needed to support business requirements.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies to optimize performance.
• Provide consultation on designing efficient tables, indexes, and schema structures.
• Implement database recovery procedures and support disaster recovery efforts.
• Maintain database security by managing user privileges and access controls.
• Conduct entitlement reviews periodically or upon request from business units or Global Technology Services (GTS).
• Utilize database utilities and tools to perform backup, restore, and other maintenance tasks.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 2 years of technical support experience with DB2 LUW distributed databases on Linux platforms.
• Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with DB2, TOAD, BMC/CDB, IBM Utilities, and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with scripting (e.g., shell, Python) for automation purposes.
• Knowledge of database backup, recovery, and performance tuning best practices.
• Certification in DB2 or related technologies is a plus.
