Job summary

Nunatsiavut Government in Nain, NL is seeking a dedicated Day Care Program Supervisor to oversee administration, operation and delivery of the Day Care Program in accordance with Inuit Child Care Initiative guidelines.

You will supervise Day Care staff, ensure programs meet children's needs and are culturally appropriate, maintain daily records, and collaborate with Human Resources on staff performance and training.

Qualifications

• Two-year ECE diploma or one-year certificate with two years experience.
• Bilingual in Inuktitut and English is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration, operation, supervision and delivery of the Day Care Program.
• Ensure Day Care services are culturally appropriate and meet children’s needs.
• Supervise staff including orientation, performance appraisals and discipline in coordination with HR.
• Maintain daily records of information on children and health/nutrition.
• Ensure compliance with Childcare Act, regulations and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the administration, operation, supervision and delivery of the Day Care Program
• Accountable for implementation and delivery of programs in the Day Care Centre as designed by Inuit Child Care Initiative
• Ensure the childcare programming are meeting the needs of the children and are culturally appropriate
• Responsible for supervision of Day Care staff including job orientation, performance appraisals, discipline and follow-up in conjunction with the Human Resource Manager
• Responsible for work and training schedules for Day Care staff and conducting staff meetings
• Ensure daily recording of pertinent information on children is carried out
• Responsible for safekeeping, nutrition and health of the children
• Knowledge and good understanding of Childcare Act and Childcare Regulations, Outdoor Play Area Standards, Standards for ECE in Child based Childcare centre, Childcare Services Subsidy Manual
• Training as required
• Travel as required
• Other related duties as required

Qualifications

• Two-year Early Childhood Education Diploma or one-year Early Childhood Education Certificate with two years experience working with children.
