Project Overview : The client is seeking a Senior SQL / SSIS Developer / Architect to manage and optimize their existing SSIS packages on SQL Server and virtual machines (VMs). The primary goal is to migrate the enterprise-scale infrastructure to standard smaller VMs, ensuring efficient execution and optimization of the SSIS packages within the new environment. Key Objectives :

• Architecture and Strategy Development : Develop a comprehensive architecture and strategy for migrating SSIS packages to smaller VMs. Ensure the new architecture supports scalability, reliability, and performance optimization.
• Execution and Implementation : Lead the execution of the migration plan, including the setup of smaller VMs. Ensure all SSIS packages are accurately transferred and functional within the new environment. Implement best practices for SQL Server and SSIS configuration on the new VMs.
• Optimization : Optimize SSIS packages for improved performance on smaller VMs. Identify and resolve any performance bottlenecks or issues that arise during or after migration. Conduct thorough testing and validation to ensure seamless operation post-migration.

Specific Requirements :

• SQL Server Expertise : Extensive experience with SQL Server, including setup, configuration, and maintenance. Strong skills in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
• SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) : Proficient in developing, deploying, and managing SSIS packages. Experience with migrating SSIS packages between different environments.
• Virtual Machines (VMs) : Knowledge of VM setup, configuration, and management. Experience with optimizing SQL Server and SSIS performance on VMs.
• A detailed architecture and strategy document outlining the migration plan.
• Successfully migrated SSIS packages running on the new smaller VMs.
