A leading company seeks a Database Administrator responsible for creating database designs, optimizing DB performance, and managing backups. Candidates must have over 10 years of Oracle DBA experience and familiarity with cloud hosting. This hybrid role offers flexibility, combining onsite and remote work.
Job Summary:
The Database Administrator will be responsible for creating physical database designs, operating and administering the database management system (DBMS), including database optimization, performance tuning, backup and recovery. They will also manage database requirements for new client application onboarding. Location: Ontario, Canada., Responsibilities:
- Create physical database designs.
- Operate and administer the database management system (DBMS).
- Perform database optimization and performance tuning.
- Manage backup and recovery processes.
- Manage database requirements for new client application onboarding.
- Monitor and enforce database rules.
- Participate in Incident, Change, and Configuration Management procedures.
- Plan and design new database deployments.
- Install and configure Oracle 19c RAC Databases.
- Design, build, install, configure, and administer OEM 19c for alerting and reporting.
- Install, configure, and administer Oracle 19c Unified Auditing.
- Perform ongoing monitoring and tuning of database performance. Required Skills & Certifications:
- More than 10 years of Oracle DBA experience.
- Experience with Oracle 12c & 19c using multi-tenant architecture.
- Oracle 19c RAC Grid infrastructure/ASM.
- RMAN backup and Restore.
- Data Encryption using ASO/TDE.
- Oracle Dataguard Physical/Logical Configuration & Administration.
- Oracle Enterprise Manager configuration & Management for alerting & reporting.
- UNIX shell scripting.
- SQL optimization, tuning, and performance experience.
- MS SQL Server installation, Configuration, and database management
- Experience with Oracle Database hosting on public cloud services. Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Oracle certification - OCP.
- Oracle Partitioning.
- Oracle Advanced Compression.
- Oracle Golden Gate.
- Experience with DB2 database technologies.
- Data Conversion from DB2 to Oracle.
- Building of Oracle RAC on conventional Solaris server.
- Oracle Engineered solution.
- Experience of DB web search service.
- Oracle DB data integration and evaluation.
