Base pay range

CA$110,000.00 / yr - CA$130,000.00 / yr

Role : Data Warehouse Architect (Permanent Full Time)

Location : This position is onsite at Port Coquitlam

Position Summary :

Our client is seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Architect to join their team in a foundational role that will shape the future of their enterprise data architecture. This is a new position and will be instrumental in designing and developing the data infrastructure upon which the organization will build for years to come.

The ideal candidate will have a proven background in DW / BI development, data modeling, and database engineering, with hands-on experience in enterprise environments. They will be comfortable working with Azure cloud technologies, particularly OneLake / DataLake architectures, and will bring a strategic mindset to long-term data planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and optimized data warehouse and BI solutions.
• Architect and implement data models and ETL / ELT pipelines for analytics and reporting.
• Leverage Azure cloud services and OneLake / DataLake storage for modern data storage solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across all reporting and analytics systems.
• Support performance tuning and optimization of database systems and queries.
• Document data processes and maintain clear records of architecture and workflows.
• Lead or contribute to strategic data initiatives and enterprise-level data planning projects.

Required Qualifications :

Degree or Diploma in Computer Science from a reputable and recognized institution.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a DW / BI Developer and Database Designer / Engineer.

Proven experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.

Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehouse architecture, and relational / dimensional modeling.

Solid hands-on experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, OneLake, etc.).

Familiarity with DataLake architectures and cloud-based storage and compute paradigms.

Excellent SQL and scripting skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications :

Certification in Azure Data Engineering or related cloud technologies.

Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.

Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
