Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Data Verification & Regulatory Label Specialist to join our team. You will ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. regulatory requirements for ingredients, product formulations, labeling, and packaging. Collaborating with Product Development and Marketing teams, you will provide regulatory guidance and ensure all products meet industry standards. Fluency in French and a strong understanding of the food industry are valuable assets.

Regulatory Compliance & Guidance

  • Review technical information related to ingredients, product formulations, preparation methods, nutrition analysis, allergens, and more to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Advise Product Development and Marketing teams on regulatory guidelines for ingredient and nutrition claims.
  • Review and approve regulated label information for new products and packaging updates.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian and U.S. packaging regulations, including nutrition labeling, value-added claims, nutrient content claims, ingredient declarations, and allergen labeling.
  • Stay informed about emerging regulatory risks and new laws affecting labeling; communicate relevant updates to the team.
  • Verify the accuracy and authenticity of documents, records, and information from various sources.
  • Perform high-accuracy data entry into databases, spreadsheets, and other systems.
  • Conduct quality checks to identify and correct errors or discrepancies.
  • Maintain compliance with data entry standards and confidentiality protocols.
  • Assist in organizing and managing physical and electronic filing systems.
  • Proof and review labels for accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in regulatory compliance, product development, or a related industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. regulatory requirements for food labeling and ingredient claims.
  • Solid understanding of the food industry.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure the accuracy of all documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems.
