Russell Tobin & Associates invites applications for a Senior Data Analytical Specialist/Scientist in Toronto. The ideal candidate will lead analytics initiatives for a public sector client, delivering end-to-end data delivery and actionable insights.

You will develop statistical models and ML algorithms, work with Azure/AWS environments, and collaborate with Data Architects, ETL developers, and business stakeholders to transform analytics into decision-ready insights.

Formación

• Proficiency in coding and data manipulation with SQL for querying large relational databases.
• Able to source, clean, transform and structure unstructured datasets from multiple channels.
• +5 years of experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
• +5 years of experience with big data frameworks.
• Experience training, testing and deploying predictive algorithms, classifiers and deep learning (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with custom Web API development, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Entity Framework, Azure SQL, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines.

Responsabilidades

• Lead development and delivery of ministry-specific analytics to support evidence-based decision-making.
• Collaborate with client groups to assess current analytics and reporting capabilities and identify improvements.
• Facilitate decision-making and manage client expectations.
• Own execution of analytics initiatives including end-to-end reporting and data delivery.
• Develop robust statistical models and ML algorithms to model business scenarios.
• Participate in documentation, development, testing and end-user training.
• Coordinate with Data Architects, ETL Developers and stakeholders to build BI solutions.
• Design methods to capture, structure, transform, and process data for modeling.
• Build data models that are accurate and easy to understand.
• Communicate complex quantitative analysis clearly with visuals and summaries.

Job Title: Data Analytical Specialist/Scientist - Senior

Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite)

Client: Public Sector

Pay Rate: $70/hr - $85/hr [CAD]

Must have Skills:

• Proficiency in coding and data manipulation, alongside SQL for querying and managing large relational databases.
• Ability to source, clean, transform, and structure messy or unstructured datasets from multiple channels.
• +5 years experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS)
• +5 years experience with big data frameworks
• Experience training, testing, and deploying predictive algorithms, classification models, and deep learning frameworks (such as TensorFlow or PyTorch).
• Experience with custom .Web API development, ASP.NET. .Net Core, Entity Framework, Azure SQL, DevOps, CI/CD Pipelines etc.
• Proficiency in all cloud service models: SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS
• Experience with Agile methodologies including using kanban/task boards

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and delivery of functional and ministry-specific analytics to support evidence-based decision-making and produce actionable insights
• Work closely with client’s groups to assess current data analytics and reporting capabilities, gather future-state requirements and identify further opportunities for improvement
• Facilitate decision-making and manage client expectations
• Own the execution of analytics initiatives including end-to-end reporting and data set delivery
• Develop robust statistical models and machine learning algorithms to model business scenarios and extract valid inferences
• Participate in documentation, development, testing, and end user training
• Work with functional area experts, Data Architects and ETL Developers and stakeholders to understand complex business issues and develop appropriate Business Intelligence solutions
• Design methods to capture, structure, transform, and process data to be used to generate models
• Build data models that provide information which is accurate, easy to understand and unbiased
• Communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear and precise manner, providing useful visuals and summaries
• Provide interpretation, advice, and expertise to client groups and other stakeholders, including direction on how to transform analytics into actionable information and proactive insights that support decision making
