New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting firm, is seeking a Data Solutions Developer / DBA for a full-time opportunity with a major public sector organization. This role requires a well-rounded professional with expertise in both database administration and data solutions development. We are looking for a collaborative team player with hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure database systems. The successful candidate will bring strong DBA capabilities, complemented by experience in data analytics, cloud solutions, and complex query development.

Responsibilities:

• Backup and restore databases.
• Set up users and security protocols.
• Install and manage SQL databases on servers.
• Utilize tools like Python or R
• Develop ETL pipelines and manage data workflows.
• Implement TDE and manage replication processes such as snapshot, transactional, and merge replication.
• Manage and optimize cloud-based database solutions.
• Create and maintain advanced database objects, including views, stored procedures, functions, and complex queries.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience administering SQL Server databases (2016–2022), including backup/restore, security configuration, and performance tuning.
• 3+ years of experience working with Azure SQL and cloud-based database solutions.
• 3+ years of experience developing data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and SSIS.
• Proven experience as both a DBA and data solutions developer.
• Strong understanding of hybrid (on-prem/cloud) environments.
• Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Experience implementing database security using Transparent Data Encryption (TDE).
• Hands-on experience managing data replication methods such as snapshot, transactional, and merge replication.
• Experience with data analysis using Python or R.
• Experience developing and supporting analytics solutions using Azure Synapse and Power BI.
• Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate or related) considered an asset.
