Qualifications

• Experience or coursework with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or IBM Cloud.

• Ability to communicate complex situations clearly and simply.
• Initiative to actively seek new knowledge and expand skills.
• Python programming for data processing or automation.
• SQL for querying, transforming, and modeling data.
• Optional exposure to data pipelines, ETL/ELT, and data modeling techniques.
• Experience with API development, containers, and version control.
• Exposure to Java, JavaScript, Golang, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Git or other version control systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.

Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Developer Associate at IBM, you’ll work with clients to co‑create solutions to real‑world challenges by using best‑practice technologies, tools, techniques, and products to translate system requirements into the design and development of customized systems.

In addition to application development, you may support data‑focused components of client solutions. This includes assisting in the design and maintenance of data models, contributing to data pipeline development, writing SQL queries, and using Python to automate data processing tasks. You may collaborate with data engineers and analysts to improve data quality, reliability, and performance across data systems. Exposure to cloud data platforms, modern data engineering practices, and ETL or ELT workflows is considered valuable in this role.

This opportunity is based in Toronto or Calgary and supports Associate Consultant hiring cohorts commencing in May 2027 and September 2027. We are recruiting for both start dates and encourage eligible candidates to apply.

Successful applicants must have graduated from a recognized post‑secondary institution prior to their employment start date. Please note that MBA and PhD graduates are not eligible for this program.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
