What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be a key role in Data Protection Services team, an innovative team with many brand new services provided at enterprise level, to provide support for Digital Certificate Lifecycle Manager (DCLM) and Internal Certificate Authority (CA) services. As an Data Security Engineer, you and your team will work with business partner, vendors, consumers, QA and Application Operation (AO) partner on integration, configuration, development, implementation, troubleshooting as well as delivering services and providing PROD support.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 5 days per month on-site, while other days will be remote.

How You'll Succeed

  • Design and development - Act as a SME on the analysis of requirements, estimations for assigned work packages and coordination for end-to-end implementation of program specific solutions. Lead the development of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet business objectives while also maintaining existing applications; Work with vendors, consumers and AO teams to deliver services per project plan or business requests; Provide production support, and work with AO partners on problem troubleshooting and resolving.
  • Programming Ability - Perform and coordinate complex application programming activities: develop specifications, code, test, debug, document, and automate via DevOps CI/CD in order to ensure successful implementation and maintenance of programs.
  • Lead & Influence - Lead code-review sessions and ensure overall code quality aligns with business and project requirements. Provide user acceptance testing support and production support to troubleshoot complex problems on applications and technologies.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate knowledge in: Strong engineering experiences (3+ years) of digital certificate management, PKI space or other enterprise security tools (e.g., HashiCorp, CyberArk); Design automated workflow for cryptographic processes, including certificate lifecycle management, certificate deployments and encryption; Experience with modern automation tools and framework (e.g. Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub/Git Actions); Knowledge of orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes); Strong knowledge of Python or Shell scripting; Hands-on experience with application of digital certificates algorithms (e.g. AES, RSA, ECC) and protocols (e.g. TLS, IPSec, SSH); Good understanding of firewalls, load balancers, LDAP/Active Directory, Authentication/Authorization; Big bonus to have: working experiences with digital certificate management tools (e.g., Venafi) and Certificate Authority (e.g., DigiCert).
