The Analytics Department’s mission is to design, manage and facilitate the implementation of the data valorization strategy for Desjardins Group’s Risk Management Executive Division. Its goal is to achieve our strategic direction of grounding our practices in analytics and preparing for the future. It’s also responsible for standardizing and implementing governance for the Risk Management Executive Division’s models. As a Data Scientist, Non-Financial Risk Data Analytics and Valorization, you help quantify non-financial risks, make decisions and develop and maintain advanced analytics and AI models. You’ll be required to:
- Design, use and develop mathematical models for non-financial risk management and diligently prepare associated documentation.
- Identify and define business needs while balancing these needs with risk management, requirements and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of use cases by taking a forward-looking approach that’s grounded in data and analytics to achieve the Risk Management Executive Division’s strategic objectives.
- Explain information in plain language that’s appropriate for the target audience to facilitate comprehension and, if applicable, decision making.
- Monitor the industry to understand and anticipate trends in non-financial risk in order to develop and update relevant best practices for the organization.

What You Bring To The Table
- Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, economics, finance or a related field
- At least four years of relevant experience in data science
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Experience in risk management and quantification
- Knowledge of French is required
- Proficiency with SAS, SQL and Python programming tools
- Knowledge of model management standards
