Location : Edmonton, AB (Hybrid – 3 Days In office)

Duration : 6 Months

A Data Analyst is expected to provide expertise in data collection, data-driven storytelling, statistical analysis, data modeling and visualization, data policies and governance standards.

The data analyst will also create plans and strategies to identify the various linkages between new and existing data forms, resulting in the integration of data models, development of data policies, and presentation of statistical analysis and data visualizations to help understand and improve service delivery.

Core Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably supporting finance or procurement processes.
• Experience with data extraction, cleansing, and preparing data sets related to contracts, spending, and budgeting.
• Proficiency in data analysis / visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and working knowledge of SQL or other database tools.
• Ability to translate complex financial / operational data into actionable insights for zero-based budgeting decisions.
• Experience in preparing dashboards and reports tailored for various audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
• Experience supporting business process optimization or financial planning projects preferred.

Must Have :

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field, such as Information Technology or Business.
• Experience creating data visualizations, dashboards, and other information products for clients using BI / analytics software, including SAS Visual Analytics, SAS Visual Investigator, MS Power BI, Tableau, Looker, R, Python.
• Direct, hands-on experience performing business requirement analysis, solution architecture and design, and deployment related to data analysis, data analytics, data visualization, data science, data mining.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite tools.

Nice to have :

• Experience with presenting data in queries, dashboards, and reports in an understandable way.
• Hands-on experience in business requirement analysis related to data manipulation, cleansing, and wrangling.
• Experience analyzing research data and presenting findings diversely.
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with government planning and budgeting processes and procedures.
