Data Scientist Co-op, Advanced Analytics

Locations Available: Sault Ste. Marie or Toronto (Hybrid)

Duration: Fall (Sept 2025 – Dec 2025)

Type: Student Full Time

Range: $18.50 - $28.50

Position Summary

The data scientist co-op will support the Advanced Analytics team within OLG’s Enterprise Analytics department. The role involves developing capabilities in predictive modeling, machine learning, and GenAI technologies.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Build and prototype Generative AI applications using tools like LangChain, Streamlit, and vector databases.
  • Collaborate with analysts to design and implement AI solutions for business problems.
  • Use Python and LLM APIs to automate decisions, improve customer experience, and optimize workflows.
  • Perform data wrangling, prompt engineering, and visualization to support models and feedback.
  • Retrieve and prepare data from Hadoop-based data lakes for AI training and inference using SQL.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong Python skills and familiarity with GenAI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, OpenAI API, HuggingFace).
  • Experience with Streamlit or similar tools for deploying AI applications.
  • Knowledge of data science workflows (Pandas, NumPy, Git, SQL).
  • Quick learner who adapts to the evolving AI landscape.
  • Passionate about solving problems with AI and creating prototypes.
