Job summary

Direct Energy, an NRG company, is seeking a Data Scientist, Customer Care Analytics to develop, validate, deploy, and monitor advanced analytics, ML, and Generative AI solutions that improve customer outcomes, operational performance, employee productivity, and business decision-making.

This role partners closely with Customer Care, Collections, Billing, Workforce Management, Technology, and Business Leadership teams to transform data into actionable insights and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, or CS.
• 3+ years in data science, analytics, ML, or forecasting roles.
• Experience building predictive or optimization models in business settings.
• Strong SQL and Python proficiency; data handling with large datasets.
• Ability to communicate analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience creating dashboards or reports with Power BI or Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy ML, forecasting, optimization, and Generative AI solutions.
• Translate business problems into analytical approaches and actionable recommendations.
• Design, validate, and monitor predictive models with governance controls.
• Acquire and prep data from multiple sources for analytics applications.
• Build scalable analytics workflows, data pipelines, and reusable data assets.
• Partner with leaders to identify analytics opportunities and drive value.
• Create dashboards and reports to support decision-making across operations.
