Job summary

Avanade is seeking a Data Protection Consultant to lead data protection and governance engagements across client environments. You will design Purview-based solutions, map threats, and guide junior staff through complex security initiatives.

The role requires hands-on experience, strong communication, and the ability to travel across Canada for workshops and delivery. Hybrid work in Canada is supported.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience delivering security or compliance solutions in a consulting or enterprise environment.
• Experience leading workstreams or small teams on client projects.
• Microsoft security certifications strongly preferred (SC-401, SC-300, SC-200, AZ-500, MS-102, SC-100).

Responsibilities

• Lead or co-lead client engagements focused on data protection and data governance.
• Design and implement Microsoft Purview solutions and policies.
• Perform threat mapping and gap analysis across data types and environments.
• Facilitate workshops and translate requirements into scalable security solutions.
• Own solution design decisions, configuration, and documentation.
• Mentor Analysts; lead workstreams or small teams.
• Contribute to estimations, delivery planning, and risk management.
• Support proposals and internal capability development.
