Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a DataOps Engineer in Toronto to design, build, and operate a modern cloud data platform. You will drive platform engineering, observability, and DevOps practices to deliver secure, scalable data services enabling BI, analytics, ML, and application development.

You will integrate data from diverse sources, build CI/CD for data pipelines, and implement governance, security, and cost-optimized data movement across environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related discipline.
• Experience building cloud-native Azure data solutions.
• Strong SQL and database performance tuning experience.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD.
• Experience with Git-based development workflows.
• Experience operating production systems with monitoring and alerting.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, automate, and operate a cloud data platform.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines for data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Create ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration across sources.
• Monitor platform health, performance, and cost; ensure reliability.
• Mentor engineers and analysts on platform best practices.
