Job description

Flyscan is at the cutting edge of technology in both security and environmental protection. We've developed an advanced aerial inspection system that detects oil and gas leaks invisible to the human eye. Using a blend of state-of-the-art software, AI, and high-performance algorithms, we help protect critical infrastructure and the environment by identifying threats before they escalate.

To support our growing operations, we're looking for a Data Operations Specialist based in Western Canada to join our team. This role plays a key part in supporting the execution of our evening flight missions : coordinating with pilots, managing secure data transfers, and ensuring timely delivery of operational outputs.

Your Role

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate live with pilots via messaging to plan and confirm end-of-day data transfers.
  • Proactively track mission progress for assigned flight systems and ensure timely status updates.
  • Communicate with the Operations Manager to resolve issues and escalate blockers when necessary.

Data Operations & Remote Access

  • Remotely access pilot laptops and initiate secure data transfers using Azure and SFTP tools.
  • Monitor data integrity and transfer success, ensuring complete and accurate delivery.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of transfer status, outstanding tasks, and missing elements.

Tracking & Delivery Oversight

  • Maintain accurate dashboards or tracking logs to reflect the real-time status of missions.
  • Follow up on late or missing deliverables with clarity, professionalism, and persistence.
  • Own the end-of-day handoff process and ensure all mission deliverables are aligned with internal SLAs.

Your Profile

Experience & Skills

  • 2–4 years of experience in data operations, project coordination, or similar roles.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, especially under tight timeframes.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple ongoing priorities with calm and precision.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in asynchronous and written formats.

Location & Availability

  • Location : Remote, based in Western Canada
  • Time zone : Able to work flexible evening hours, ideally From 3 : 00 PM to 10 : 00 PM (EST) (12 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 PM PST) from Tuesday to Saturday, and on call Sunday evening. We also accept candidate whow ould be on an EST schedule.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in logistics, or mission-critical operational environments.
  • Familiarity with data handling policies and security protocols.
  • Knowledge of dashboarding or tracking tools (e.g., Excel, JIRA, Confluence, etc.).
  • Comfortable using remote access tools, SFTP clients, and cloud platforms like Azure.
