The Role : Data Modeler

We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to join our Capital Markets division within the Data and Architecture Services team. The successful candidate will design and implement data models that accurately capture trade data across various financial products, requiring expertise in data modeling, capital markets, and trade data understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop data models for trade data related to financial instruments, ensuring compliance and business alignment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Create and maintain logical and physical data models, optimizing for performance and standards.
  • Ensure models are scalable and adaptable to new products and market changes.
  • Manage metadata and promote data quality across the organization.
  • Review and validate data models with stakeholders.
  • Advise on data normalization, storage, and retrieval strategies.
  • Support data governance initiatives and stay updated on industry trends and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in data modeling, with capital markets experience preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of financial products, trade lifecycle, and market data.
  • Experience with industry standards like FpML, ISDA CDM, FIX, SWIFT, ISO20022.
  • Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner) and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL, and big data platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of financial regulations (GDPR, MiFID II, Dodd-Frank).

Preferred Skills

Independent and team working abilities; professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are assets.
