Data Model Designer Co-op (May 2025 - Dec 2025)

What you'll be doing...
  • Design and implement the Visier data models and analytic objects (metric, dimensions, etc.) that support the business questions presented in the Visier People Applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure that the data models meet the business requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable data requirements to build abstract data models in our Scala-based Applications.
  • Develop and maintain reporting analyses to deliver key insights that drive data-driven business decisions.
  • Define and develop key metrics in our proprietary Scala-based Visier Formula Language (VFL).
  • Generate and load sample data into those data models with our proprietary ETL technology.
  • Design and perform various quality tests to validate the data models.
  • Troubleshoot any issues or inefficiencies that occur within the data models, metrics, or analyses.
What you'll bring to the table...
  • Experience with data mapping, transformation, and query languages (SQL, etc.), implementing data warehouse models and/or reporting solutions.
  • Good knowledge of database management systems and data modelling techniques.
  • Good knowledge of ETL platforms and techniques and data integration techniques.
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools (i.e. Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Experience working with git-based source code repositories (i.e. Bitbucket, GitHub, etc.).
  • Knowledge of web technologies (i.e. REST, XML, JSON).
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix shell scripting (i.e. Bash, Python).
  • Efficient time management skills, able to work under pressure with competing priorities and remain organized.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and able to resolve differences to reach an understanding.
  • Be results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliverables.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.

The base pay range for this position in Canada is $3,600 - $4,500 per month.
