Job summary

Sunnybrook Research Institute seeks a Research Assistant to support data entry, patient record organization, and literature reviews. Ideal candidates will have a B.Sc. in Biomedical Science or Psychology, strong interpersonal skills, and familiarity with research processes. Qualifications

Sunnybrook Research Institute is the research enterprise of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, a teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. Research spans three Toronto-based campuses, eight programs and three scientific platforms. Our main aims are to understand and prevent disease, and to develop treatments that enhance and extend life. Our vision is to invent the future of health care. Each year, we conduct about $100 million in research across 500,000 square feet, including in the world’s first Centre for Research in Image-Guided Therapeutics.

Summary of Duties

  • Extract and enter data into a database
  • Filing and organizing patient records
  • Completing data collection forms
  • Assist with literature reviews and preparation of REB applications as required.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of B.Sc. In Biomedical Science/Psychology is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with literature reviews, summarizing results and drafting manuscripts.
  • Experience with clinical work (e.g. clinical assistant)
  • Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft programs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research regulations and guidelines (confidentiality, privacy)
