Job summary

Nasdaq is seeking a Data Engineering Specialist in Toronto for a hybrid role, combining in-office collaboration with remote work flexibility. You will design, build, and scale data infrastructure powering a large data marketplace used by finance and tech professionals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in software or data engineering.
  • Proficiency in Python (required), with working knowledge of SQL and Spark/PySpark.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and data tools, including distributed data pipeline development and orchestration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to document clearly and concisely.

Job description

As a Data Engineering Specialist reporting to the Senior Director of Data Engineering, you'll play a critical role in designing, building, and scaling the data infrastructure that powers one of the world's largest data marketplaces — serving hundreds of thousands of professionals across finance, technology, and beyond. You'll thrive in this position if you're analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about data quality and engineering excellence in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. This position will be located in Toronto, Canada, and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.


Key Responsibilities

What We Offer


  • The base pay range for this role is $84,000 - $115,000.

  • Annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive).
