We are seeking a part-time consultant with Data Engineering skills to help with our Microsoft Fabric implementation.

Location: Remote

Allocation: Part time (approx 50% - flexible hours)

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement scalable Data Warehouses and Lakehouse architectures using Microsoft Fabric.
  2. Develop end-to-end data pipelines and data flows to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
  3. Perform data profiling and analysis, including inventory analysis, classification, and dictionary mapping to ensure data quality and consistency.
  4. Work with business users to support data cleansing, enrichment, and transformation initiatives.
  5. Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
  6. Ensure data solutions are secure, compliant, and aligned with enterprise data governance standards.

Requirements

  1. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Dataflows Gen2, and pipeline orchestration.
  2. Solid understanding of data warehouse and lakehouse architectures.
  3. Proficiency in Power BI for building interactive reports and dashboards.
  4. Experience in data profiling, metadata analysis, and data classification techniques.
  5. Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale structured and semi-structured datasets.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  7. Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, or other Microsoft data services.
  2. Background in data modeling (star/snowflake schemas) and ETL/ELT best practices.
  3. Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for data engineering tasks.
