Job Description

We are seeking a high-skilled and experienced all-round Data Engineer/Analyst to join our dynamic team. As a fully empowered data specialist you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction and core backbone of our business from a data perspective

You will be involved in all aspects of data, including the building of pipelines/data warehouse, analysis and trending of data, and the visualization of that data in reports/dashboards.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Design and implement scalable and efficient data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into target systems or data warehouses.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for ETL workflows.
  • Perform data profiling, cleansing, and transformation to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity throughout the ETL process.
  • Writing stored procedures, functions, and queries in SQL or a relevant database language.
  • Data modeling and designing efficient database schemas for data warehouses or data marts.
  • Implement data quality controls and validation checks to identify and address data anomalies, inconsistencies, or errors.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including technical specifications, data mappings, and workflow diagrams.
  • Experience working with version control systems and following software development best practices for code management and collaboration.
  • Perform deep dive analysis of customer data to identify key demographics.
  • Analysis of website traffic to understand how our sites are used, user engagement and conversion tracking etc.
  • Visualization of data through dashboards and reports

Qualifications

You Have:

  • 3+ years proven experience as an ETL Developer, Data Engineer, or similar role, with expertise in designing and developing data integration solutions using Azure Data Factory (ADF) or AWS Glue.
  • Strong understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing principles, and data integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with data modeling tools and techniques, such as ER diagrams, dimensional modeling, and star schemas.
  • Experience in parsing and transforming semi-structured data – JSON, XML.
  • Experienced in data integration patterns and techniques, including change data capture (CDC), incremental loading, and data synchronization.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases, data modeling, and query optimization.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis using Python – experience working with different formats – xml, web API calls, Excel.
  • Proficient working with No SQL databases such as MongoDB.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI for both static and dynamic reporting.
  • Well versed in Google Analytics.
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
  • Experience with data wrangling, cleaning, and manipulation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
