Job description

Guidepoint seeks a Data Engineer as an integral member of the Toronto-based Data / AI team. The Toronto Technology Hub will serve as the base of our new Data / AI team, dedicated to building a modern data infrastructure for advanced analytics and the development of responsible AI. This strategic investment is integral to Guidepoint’s vision for the future, aiming to develop cutting-edge Generative AI and analytical capabilities that will underpin Guidepoint’s Next-Gen research enablement platform and data products.

This will be a hybrid position in our Toronto office.

What You’ll Do :

  • Collaborate with data architects, data scientists, analysts, and other business consumers to quickly and thoroughly analyze business requirements to populate the data warehouse, optimized for reporting and analytics.
  • Work with senior data engineers on best practices in data engineering and Lakehouse architecture.
  • Drive innovation and contribute to the development of cutting-edge Generative AI and analytical capabilities for Guidepoint's Next-Gen research enablement platform.

What You Have :

  • Demonstrated proactive engagement with eagerness to learn
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at articulating complex ideas with clarity and precision
  • Collaborative in approach, actively seeking guidance when necessary
  • Skilled in data engineering concepts and languages, notably SQL, PySpark, Dbt, DLT
  • Some familiarity with Databricks Platform and Knowledge Graph concepts
  • Knowledgeable in Lakehouse architecture and OpenAI APIs
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
