Overview

Data Engineer

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our fast growing team. This person will be responsible for expanding cloud based data pipeline architecture for the various cross functional Tax teams. The ideal candidate has experience building robust data pipelines and reporting tools. However, someone with a strong application development background with keen interest in data engineering would be considered. The candidate will be collaborating extensively with Engineering, Tax Compliance and Tax Reporting teams to support functional use-cases and take data driven decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop domain and data models to provide standardized reporting solutions to the firm (and understand differences between the two)
  • Design and develop data ingest and transform processes
  • Develop automation, governance and reporting solutions to provide firm and regulatory mandated controls
  • Work as part of a global team using Agile software methodologies
  • Partner with Tax risk, compliance and reporting teams
  • Use data to drive change throughout the Tax business
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience (VP - requires more)
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Experience with building workflows (ETL pipelines)
  • Experience working with large and disparate datasets
  • Self-starter, motivated, and good communication skills
  • Problem solver with attention to detail who can see complex problems in the data space through end to end
  • Willingness to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong sense of ownership and driven to manage tasks to completion
  • Interest in applying technical knowledge to Financial Services industry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data architecture, modeling and infrastructure
  • Proficiency in Python, Spark and the Hadoop ecosystem
  • MS / BS in Computer Science or relevant industry experience.
