Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Data Engineer to optimize clinical data management systems and support the evolving needs of digital healthcare. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data pipelines that ensure the availability, integrity, and security of critical healthcare data. The ideal candidate will also lead the modernization of data infrastructure, including cloud migration and the integration of advanced analytics technologies.

Key Responsibilities

General Functions

• Analyze the performance of existing data systems to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions that enhance operational efficiency across clinical workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to deploy scalable data storage architectures that enable real-time data access while maintaining compliance with healthcare security standards.

Domain Expertise

• Manage and optimize data flows between on-premise and cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration and accessibility of clinical data across diverse platforms.
• Design and maintain databases tailored to clinical applications, including schema development for specialized use cases such as clinical trials, electronic health records (EHRs), and genomic research.
• Develop and implement data warehousing solutions that meet the regulatory and operational demands of the healthcare sector, with a focus on integrating data from multiple EHR systems and Health Information Exchanges (HIEs).
• Apply industry best practices for data security, auditing, and compliance using modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

Technical Proficiency

• Demonstrate expertise in data integration technologies, including ETL/ELT tools, and proficiency in both SQL and NoSQL database systems.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, and DICOM, and experience working with coded medical terminologies like SNOMED CT and LOINC.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare data protection regulations, including HIPAA and GDPR, and incorporate these standards into the design and deployment of data solutions.
• Must be bilingual in French and English

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as short-term and long-term disability, life insurance and AD&D. Employees in this role are also entitled to sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
