Location: 100% Remote – Canada wide
Mandate Duration: 12 months – 35 hours per week
Language: English and French

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our data transformation program, playing a key role in building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines that support business-critical analytics. This role requires a hands-on professional with a strong background in modern data platforms, pipeline orchestration, and data quality monitoring.

As part of a cross-functional team, you will work with cutting-edge tools like DataIku, DBT, Snowflake, Talend, and collaborate closely with other data engineers, data architects, and business stakeholders to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and properly governed.

Objectives and Deliverables

• Design and build robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines to support data migration and analytics workloads.

• Implement and manage data quality controls and monitoring frameworks to ensure data integrity.

• Conduct QA testing to validate data pipelines and business rules.

• Monitor and maintain data processing jobs, ensuring performance, reliability, and rapid issue resolution.

• Lead and support release management activities for data workflows.

• Identify and evaluate opportunities for automation and process improvements within the data pipeline lifecycle.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines using DataIku, DBT, Talend, Snowflake, and related technologies.

• Integrate data from SAP ECC and S/4HANA into the target platforms.

• Define, implement, and monitor data quality and observability tools.

• Perform rigorous QA testing to validate data transformations and outputs.

• Troubleshoot and resolve job failures and data inconsistencies within your assigned data domain.

• Support and execute release processes, ensuring stability and compliance.

• Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and proactively recommend improvements.

Required Qualifications and Technical Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.

• Proven hands-on experience with:

  • SAP ECC and S/4HANA data structures.

  • DataIku, DBT, Snowflake, and Talend.

• Expertise in building and maintaining data ingestion and transformation pipelines.

• Strong skills in data monitoring, QA testing, and bug resolution.

• Familiarity with release management processes.

• Bilingual: French and English.

Assets

• Experience working in large-scale data migration or ERP transformation programs.

• Exposure to automation frameworks and tools for data pipeline orchestration.

• Ability to work autonomously in a remote-first team environment, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
