Job description

We seek a skilled and experienced data engineer to build data pipelines for data-driven plastic recycling. A successful candidate will join our dynamic team to design and develop pipelines for data gathering and analytics in recycling. An ideal candidate will have a strong data engineering / infrastructure knowledge, experience in machine learning and a software background. Chemical and process engineering knowledge, familiarity with IOTs, and transformer-based architectures are a plus.

Responsibilities :

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and processing using Python and SQL on local terminals and AWS. Enforce data hygiene to ensure accuracy.
• Improve upon existing analytical data processing pipelines and machine learning algorithms.
• Fine-tune and deploy transformer-based architectures to make process recommendations.
• Collaborate across teams to develop and integrate data solutions into recycling lines. Report and present the state of the data pipelines and gathering capabilities.
• Develop data acquisition pipelines for edge devices (e.g., sensors). Ensure communication between edge devices and central systems using well-established protocols.
• Develop and debug software for Windows platforms using C++, C#, or scripting languages.

Candidate Requirements :

• 2+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or machine learning.
• Experience in Python, SQL, PyTorch, Windows Programming, and edge-device SDKs.
• Understanding of cloud computing platforms and machine-learning development.
• Track record of building and shipping high-quality work and achieving high reliability.
• Experience with prototyping for a local real-time application.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Background in chemical engineering and materials processing is a plus.
