The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the delivery of advanced data products, working closely with engineering teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance data products that support our data strategy. This is a high-impact role, ideal for a proactive and technically strong leader with deep experience in cloud engineering, performance optimization, agile delivery, and managing distributed teams.

What will you do in this role?

We are looking for a highly skilled Data Delivery Lead to help guide and support the delivery of key data products across our Azure-based modern data platform.. Working closely with both onshore and offshore engineering teams, the successful candidate will focus on delivery, ensure best practices, and help drive high-quality solutions. Based in Halifax, this candidate will be instrumental in leading the delivery of key data initiatives, working with cross-functional teams to ensure outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, and aligned to business priorities. This role is ideally suited for a strong delivery leader with a solid background in data platform programmes—someone who understands the data domain and can drive delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of high-value data products and capabilities on a modern data platform, ensuring alignment with business and strategic objectives.
  • Work closely with product owners, data platform teams, architects, and business stakeholders to shape delivery roadmaps and manage execution.
  • Ensure projects and workstreams are effectively scoped, planned, and tracked—focusing on outcomes, timelines, risks, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate delivery across multiple teams and vendors, ensuring alignment across technical and business domains.
  • Champion agile delivery methods and iterative development approaches within the data delivery landscape.
  • Monitor progress, manage risks, resolve issues, and report clearly to senior stakeholders on delivery status.
  • Ensure that governance, compliance, and data management standards are followed throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Maintain a strong focus on value delivery and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years proven experience in leading delivery of data products and platforms in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of the modern data platform landscape, including data lakes, data products, governance, and cloud platforms (Azure experience is a plus).
  • Experience managing delivery across cross-functional teams, including technical, analytical, and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Familiarity with agile and hybrid delivery models, ideally within regulated industries such as insurance or financial services.
  • A pragmatic, outcome-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering value and navigating complexity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with or around platforms such as Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, or similar data tools Experience integrating Databricks with enterprise tools (e.g., Profisee, Azure Purview, Power BI).
  • Exposure to data governance, data quality, and metadata management practices.
  • Background in cloud transformation, data modernization, or enterprise data initiatives.
  • Prior experience working in regulated industries, particularly insurance or financial services, is highly desirable.
Role Factors:

The position is full-time with remote work options, requiring in-office presence three days per week
