Description

IT Consultant will strategically and tactically implement data pipelines and infrastructure. You will also contribute to the development of our Data Strategy as a part of the Transit Ops Data team.

Responsibilities

• Works in partnership with internal customers, advising them on information technology to meet their business objectives or overcome problems.
• Defines data strategy and provides guidance to improve structure and efficiency of IT systems.
• Provides subject matter expertise in the field of Information Management & IT technology, particularly data lake house, pipelines, and analytics.

General Skills

• Acts as the technical advisor/expert on all aspects of data strategy.
• Develops processes and procedures for implementing data strategy, integration, and ingestion.
• Ensures data architecture and pipelines are built based on standard technology, follow approved patterns, and ensure high quality, reliability, and performance.
• Anticipates and resolves problems to ensure deliverables are completed within budget, with high quality, and meet or exceed expectations.
• Works with internal clients to define data and integration requirements.
• Prepares reports and presentations including options, recommendations, and implementation plans.
• Familiar with change-management principles and methodology.
• Knowledge of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
• Maintains a continuous improvement mindset.
