Role: VMware vCloud/NSX and Network Engineer
Location: Fully Remote in Canada (with occasional team meetings in the Greater Toronto Area)

The Opportunity:
We’re seeking an experienced Datacenter/CSP Environment Architect with VMware vCloud/NSX to join our team and support our global cloud infrastructure. This role involves managing a diverse range of responsibilities, from maintaining cloud environments to designing and optimizing network solutions. You’ll work remotely, with occasional in-person collaboration, as part of a supportive and highly skilled team.
Primary Duties:
- Operate, maintain, and monitor VMware-based cloud infrastructure (vSphere, NSX, vCloud).
- Strong understanding of vCloud Director for Deployment (VCP 9.0 Certified Environment)
- Serve as the engineering escalation point for infrastructure-related issues.
- Manage geographically distributed object storage clusters using MinIO.
- Automate processes using scripting to enhance infrastructure management.
- Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with software and hardware vendors.
- Develop and implement comprehensive plans for projects with complex dependencies.
- Collaborate with sales teams to provide technical expertise for client solutions.
Secondary Duties:
- Set up, maintain, and monitor global MPLS network infrastructure across data centers.
- Oversee multihomed Internet infrastructure and troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
- Support and maintain physical hardware in data center environments.
- Conduct network architecture planning for evolving business needs.
- Monitor and maintain local data center storage clusters and FibreChannel SANs.
Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience with VMware technologies: vSphere, vCloud Director, NSX-V, and NSX-T.
- Proficiency in core and edge networking (MPLS, OSPF, BGP) and VPN technologies (SSL, L2TP, etc.).
- Deep understanding of Linux and Windows Server environments.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise storage concepts (RAID, SAN, NFS) and object storage (e.g., MinIO).
- Familiarity with Grafana, Prometheus, LogicMonitor, and other monitoring tools.
- Experience with Cisco Nexus, ASR, and ASA hardware.
- Strong scripting and automation skills.
