Job summary

Accenture is seeking an experienced data center engineer to lead complex builds, migrations, and lifecycle programs across compute, storage, and network domains. You will blend deep technical skills with operational rigor, mentor others, and drive RCA for major incidents in a high-security environment.

The role requires hands-on Linux/virtualization, automation with Terraform/Ansible, and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in data center engineering or infrastructure team lead roles.
• Advanced Linux/virtualization expertise with troubleshooting across compute/storage/network.
• Automation with Terraform/Ansible and scripting (Python/PowerShell/Bash).
• Proven incident management, DR/BCP execution, and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of private cloud footprints (Google Distributed Cloud, Azure Stack, Nutanix, Outposts, Anthos) and virtualization estates.
• Engineer storage platforms (block/file/object) and data protection strategies; validate DR across RTO/RPO targets.
• Own capacity planning, performance baselining, and SLOs; implement monitoring/alerting dashboards.
• Establish secure hardware handling (chain of custody) and site readiness standards; coordinate vendor support and RMAs.
• Automate provisioning and configuration with Terraform/Ansible; integrate with CMDB and GitOps workflows.
• Harden OS and platform configurations per ITSG-33; implement logging, MFA, key management, and secrets handling.
• Lead P1 incident command, post-incident reviews, and corrective actions; develop resilience and failover patterns.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, diagrams, and asset inventories; mentor junior engineers and uplift team capability.
• Collaborate with Network, Security, and Cloud teams to land scalable, cost-optimized solutions; support FinOps.

The Work

• Engineer storage platforms (block/file/object) and data protection strategies; validate DR across RTO/RPO targets.

• Lead P1 incident command, post-incident reviews, and corrective actions; develop resilience and failover patterns.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, diagrams, and asset inventories; mentor junior engineers and uplift team capability.
• Collaborate with Network, Security, and Cloud teams to land scalable, cost-optimized solutions; support FinOps.
• Plan and coordinate change windows; ensure audit compliance and evidence capture for regulated clients.
• Ability to work shifts/on-call; comfort working on-site in high-security environments.
• Travel may be required based on client demand. Accenture promotes a client-centric, flexible work environment.
• This role will require a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. Preferred location: Ottawa.

What You’ll Need

• Minimum 2 years of experience in data center engineering or infrastructure team lead roles.

• Automation with Terraform/Ansible and scripting (Python/PowerShell/Bash).
• Proven incident management, DR/BCP execution, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a related field.
• Eligibility for Reliability Clearance.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Eligible for Top Secret Security Clearance or currently holds Top Secret Security Clearance status.
• Hybrid Kubernetes operations experience.
• Vendor certifications across cloud/server/storage/virtualization.
• Bilingual (English/French).

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation, based on full-time employment, for roles that may be hired as set forth below.
