Job summary

Accenture is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer in Ottawa to advance hybrid cloud estates and secure, scalable patterns.

You’ll lead incident response, mentor junior engineers, and partner with architecture to implement IaC, Kubernetes, and cost-optimization guardrails across Google Distributed Cloud/Anthos, Azure Stack, Outposts, and more.

The role requires on-site presence in Ottawa at least three days a week and eligibility for security clearances.

Qualifications

5+ years of cloud platform engineering/administration experience.
Strong Linux, networking, and IaC skills.
Kubernetes operations experience; understanding of service mesh/ingress.
Demonstrated incident leadership and DR/BCP execution.
Eligibility for Reliability Clearance.

You are: You’re a cloud platform specialist who automates everything, enforces guardrails, and keeps platforms reliable and cost-efficient. You lead incidents, mentor others, and partner with architecture to land secure patterns at scale.

The Work:

Operate and optimize hybrid cloud estates (Google Distributed Cloud/Anthos, Azure Stack, Outposts, Nutanix) with enterprise guardrails.
Design and maintain Terraform/Ansible stacks; implement reusable modules, remote state, and drift detection.
Engineer Kubernetes platforms (control plane upgrades, node OS baselines, CNI, ingress/egress, registry, policy).
Implement network patterns (hub/spoke, firewalls, WAF, Private Link/Endpoints); troubleshoot routing and DNS.
Lead incident response and post-incident reviews; drive reliability backlogs and SLO adoption.
Implement ITSG-33-aligned controls; integrate with SIEM, KMS/HSM, and secret managers.
Embed FinOps: rightsizing, reservation planning, cost visibility, and optimization guardrails.
Mentor junior engineers; partner with Security, Network, App teams to enable platform consumption.

Ability to work shifts/on-call; comfort working on-site in high-security environments.

Travel may be required based on client demand. Accenture promotes a client-centric, flexible work environment.

This role will require a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. Preferred location: Ottawa.

What You’ll Need

Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud platform engineering/administration.
Strong Linux, networking, and IaC (Terraform/Ansible/CloudFormation).
Kubernetes operations experience; understanding of service mesh/ingress.

Bachelor's degree or college diploma in a related field.

Eligible for Top Secret Security Clearance or currently holds Top Secret Security Clearance status.
Cloud certifications (Azure/AWS/GCP).
Policy-as-code and compliance automation.
Bilingual (English/French).
