What You Will Do

  • Provide onsite physical assistance to support teams within data centers and computer rooms. Ensure Data Center Management documentation is maintained – Standard Operating Procedures, racking diagrams, floor plans.
  • Manage server and switch cabling and patch work as the need arises. Support SOX and Audit processes and ensure alignment with policies and procedures
  • Lead all aspects of equipment racking and decommission management.
  • Ensure continuous system health and response management (HVAC, UPS, Power, Generator).
  • Coordinate vendor access processes and act as a data center escort.

Who You Are

  • You possess a degree in electrical engineering, computer, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • You possess 4-5 years of experience in data center management.
  • Proficient in remote management systems (RILO) and have a deep understanding of network topology and IP networking.
  • Proven project management skills and can handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • You are adaptable to change and continuously strive for improvement. Ability to travel to our other locations occasionally.

Preference given for candidates with CDCP and CDCS Designations.

This Role Will Require

  • Travel and occasional after hours and weekend work
  • Heavy lifting and physical agility
  • Rotation in the on call support process
  • Reliable vehicle and clean drivers abstract
  • Ability to travel to the US and to other Enbridge Facility locations (Edm, Toronto, Calgary, Houston) if required.

Physical Requirements

Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Mental Requirements

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, prioritize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, coordinate and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
