Job summary

Fidelity Canada is seeking a senior Data Architect to lead architectural design and transformative data initiatives. You will align with our data strategy, collaborate with international partners, and define reference architectures for scalable data systems.

You will drive data modelling, governance, and integration across BI tools and cloud platforms, including Snowflake and Boomi iPaaS, while enabling AI/ML workflows and robust data quality.

Qualifications

  • University Degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Data Architect.
  • Experience implementing RAG architectures, fine-tuning LLMs, or integrating GenAI into enterprise systems.
  • Background in MLOps, CI/CD for Machine Learning pipelines, or automated model lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience in database design and BI/data visualization tools (Tableau, Oracle, SAP, Salesforce, PowerBI).
  • Master Data Management experience with Ataccama or similar vendors.
  • Cloud technologies experience (AWS preferred).
  • Snowflake and data warehousing experience.
  • Data integration platforms experience (Boomi iPaaS).
  • Proficiency with MS SQL, Oracle, AWS Aurora, MySQL, PostgreSQL, ProgressDB.
  • Familiarity with open-source tools (Sqoop, KNIME, RapidMiner, Elasticsearch, Kafka).
  • Experience with architecture governance platforms (LeanIX).

You will be working on a flexible hybrid schedule as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement. Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings. The work location for this role is 483 Bay Street in Toronto until approximately late 2026, when the work location will change to the new Mississauga office at 3 Robert Speck Parkway.

How You’ll Make an Impact

The Architecture team is responsible for delivering technology solutions that support our divisional strategy. In addition, the team leads the development of Fidelity Investments Canada’s technology vision and strategy. This involves conducting research into a variety of technologies and business focus areas that includes data warehouse, data integration, master data, big data, cloud services, data governance and quality, security and operational efficiency.

What You Will Do
  • Overall alignment with enterprise data strategy, a key responsibility involves technology solutions in addition to close collaboration with our international partners.
  • Translating business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses.
  • Defining the data architecture framework, standards and principles, including modeling, metadata, security, reference data such as product codes and client categories, and master data such as clients, vendors, product and employees.
  • Defining reference architecture, which is a pattern that others can follow to create and improve data systems.
  • Defining data flows, i.e., which parts of the organization generate data, which require data to function, how data flows are managed, and how data changes in transition.
  • Collaborating and coordinating with multiple departments, stakeholders, partners, and external vendors.
  • Developing data solutions to store and retrieve company information.
  • Designing conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts.
  • Bringing good knowledge of data governance best practices and tools experience.
  • Providing business analyst support to business and technology initiatives aimed at improving data quality, timeliness of delivery.
What We’re Looking For
  • University Degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Data Architect.
  • Experience implementing RAG architectures, fine‑tuning LLMs, or integrating GenAI into enterprise systems.
  • Background in MLOps, CI/CD for Machine Learning pipelines, or automated model lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience in database logical and physical build, and expertise in BI and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Oracle, SAP, Salesforce, and PowerBI.
  • Advanced skills in Analytics, AI/ML, data source analysis, and overall data management.
  • Master Data Management experience with Ataccama or other industry‑leading vendors like IBM and Informatica.
  • Proficiency with Cloud technologies (AWS preferred).
  • Proficiency in data warehousing, ideally with experience in Snowflake.
  • Experience with data integration platforms, specifically Boomi iPaaS.
  • Strong database build skills and experience with Microsoft SQL, Oracle, AWS Aurora, MYSQL, PostgreSQL, and ProgressDB.
  • Familiarity with leading open‑source tools like Apache Sqoop, KNIME, RapidMiner, Elasticsearch, Pig, Hive, and Kafka.
  • Experience with architecture enterprise management platforms (LeanIX preferred).
