Our client is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Data Architecture Specialist to play a key role in advancing the organization’s data and analytics maturity. This role will be instrumental in ensuring our enterprise-wide data systems are optimized for performance, integrity, and accessibility, supporting patient care, clinical decision-making, and operational excellence.

This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking data professional to lead transformational projects that enhance SHA’s analytics capabilities through structured, scalable, and secure data design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Enterprise Data Modeling: Design and develop conceptual, logical, physical, and transformational data models to support SHA’s enterprise architecture and analytics initiatives.
  • Database Optimization: Monitor system performance and optimize data structures for speed, scalability, and reliability.
  • Strategic Architecture Development: Architect technical roadmaps addressing data quality, integration, workflow, and compliance.
  • Workflow & Process Improvement: Conduct workflow analysis, lead business process reviews, and recommend improvements to enhance data handling and utilization.
  • Data Governance & Quality: Ensure data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and timeliness, supporting patient safety and operational decision-making.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Establish robust data handling processes that meet all applicable legislation and regulatory standards, maintaining audit trails for transparency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with clinical, technical, and executive teams to align data architecture with business needs.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Develop or assist in the creation of project documentation, briefing notes, testing plans, process flows, and change requests.
  • Project Support: Collaborate with Project Managers to support delivery, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and reporting.

Qualifications

Education :

Undergraduate degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software / Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Professional licensing or association membership, if applicable

Experience :

  • 3–5 years of experience in data management, data architecture, or technology development in complex environments
  • Experience in health care or public sector data environments is considered a strong asset
  • Deep understanding of enterprise data architecture, data modeling, and database design
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws, regulations, and compliance standards
  • Familiarity with the healthcare system in Saskatchewan is an asset
  • Skilled in stakeholder communication, including experience engaging with senior executives
  • Demonstrated leadership in process improvement and change management
  • Strong documentation and presentation abilities
  • Ability to collaborate across clinical, technical, and strategic teams
