Digital Architect (Data) at Tri-Global Solutions Group Inc.
Tri-Global Solutions Group Inc. is seeking five Digital Architects (Data) to join our talented Service Delivery team at Digital Design and Delivery (a division of Government of Alberta) to support various projects across the Ministries.
Location: Remote (within Canada)
Engagement Type: Contract
Number of Resources required: 5
Rate (CAD): $100.00 – $125.00 per hour / Commensurate with related experience and market competitiveness
Term: 12 months (2026-11-02 to 2027-11-01) with two 12 month extensions available (up to 36-month contract)
Hours per day: 7.25

Work Model: The successful candidate(s) will primarily work remotely; however, may be required to attend meetings or work sessions in Edmonton, AB on reasonable notice (onsite attendance unlikely for out-of-province contractors).
Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding observed holidays.

Project Overview
The Government of Alberta ("GoA") has embarked on transforming the work of government to deliver simpler, more efficient, and better services for the citizens of Alberta, thereby ensuring that the needs of Albertans are effectively met in the digital age. The Province has a strategic role within government to drive efficiencies, innovation and modernization. As part of this role, the Province is expanding the GoA’s digital delivery of services with the view of simplifying and providing better user experiences with interactions with the GoA.
The Digital Design and Delivery Division ("3D") was established to maximize capability and confidence in modern digital practice by ensuring service quality and value through standards and controls.
This includes utilizing human-centered design approaches together with agile methodology and modern data practices.
Services and Project Deliverables
Lead the solution architecture of digital services by:
- Developing the overall architectural plan, ensuring a citizen-centered design and agile software approach;
- Uncovering existing system context;
- Providing recommendations and prototypes for technical discovery and feasibility;
- Providing and being accountable for the solution designs that account for iterative implementation;
- Analyzing impacts, exposure, and risk as it pertains to the solution design.
Guide the team in the implementation of digital services by:
- Facilitating frequent delivery of products to ensure that the target architecture is successfully created;
- Determining the tactical approach on each integration and the target state of system boundaries and interactions;
- Identifying opportunities to leverage common components and capabilities of other digital services;
- Encouraging team contribution towards developing opportunities to leverage other digital services;
- Providing guidance on the creation of detailed designs for solution implementation;
- Reviewing code changes;
- Contributing to code changes in order to implement user stories and to complete technical tasks;
- Providing coaching and mentorship to the product team.
Contribute to the architectural vision for a platform of user-centric services, particularly as it relates to the use of common components and capabilities to accelerate service delivery.
Contribute to the development of principles, metrics, and standards for service quality and delivery.
Provide software architecture information to technical and non-technical audiences by creating materials (documents, diagrams, presentations, etc.) appropriate to the audience.
Actively participate in the development and continuous improvement of the architecture practice.
Mandatory Skills
- Mandatory Skills – Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field of study equivalencies will be considered. (Yes or No)
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional agile product teams, providing architectural direction, and mentoring developers and technical leads. (5 years+)
- Experience as a data architect, software architect, or senior data engineer, where the proposed resource’s focus has been collaborative work on and/or with cross-functional teams to create new software applications. (8 years+)
- Experience in leading solution architecture and introducing the overall technical vision for a large-scale Enterprise projects with integrations between systems. (5 years+)
- Experience leading domain modelling and database schema design for transactional and reporting systems. (4 years+)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making. (5 years+)
Desirable / Nice to have Skills
- Experience aligning data architecture with organizational data strategies, digital service delivery goals, and emerging AI-enabled business capabilities. (3 years+)
- Experience applying data governance principles to ensure data consistency, quality, compliance, metadata management, and responsible use of data for analytics and AI solutions. (3 years+)
- Experience applying secure development practices and managing identity and access using role-based or attribute-based access control and Zero Trust Architecture principle. (4 years+)
- Experience architecting solutions that leverage relational and non-relational databases, analytics platforms, and AI technologies, including data modeling, performance optimization, and the delivery of actionable insights. (5 years+)
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed data interoperability and standardization practices into product development workflows. (2 years+)
- Experience incrementally transforming legacy systems into modern digital and data-driven services across multiple releases, leveraging cloud-native and AI-enabled technologies where appropriate. (5 years+)
- Experience with the Government of Alberta’s Information Technology/Information Management policies, standards and guidelines. (2 years+)
- Experience working within an organization equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta, supporting enterprise-scale data, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives. (3 years+)
Project Examples (Must Provide 2 Project/Assignment Examples)
Two (2) project/assignment examples must be provided, which exemplify/demonstrate your expertise in the selected service area. These examples must clearly demonstrate your expertise in the Digital Architect role. NOTE: Project examples that reflect more recent experience will be evaluated more favorably, particularly those that demonstrate alignment with current public sector digital delivery practices.
- 1. Project Overview – Describe the project or assignment in which the proposed Digital Architect played a key role. The description should highlight the scope, objectives, and the candidate’s specific responsibilities in the Digital Architect role.
- 2. Sector Context – Indicate whether the project served the public sector, private sector, or another domain. Preference will be given to experience in public sector environments, particularly those involving digital service delivery, modernization, or enterprise transformation.
- 3. Project Complexity and Scope – Describe the complexity of the project or assignment using one or more of the following dimensions:
- Number of integrated systems or platforms
- Number of users or departments impacted
- Degree of architectural transformation (e.g., legacy modernization, cloud migration)
- Duration and number of releases or phases
- Size and composition of the delivery team
- Regulatory, security, or compliance considerations - 4. Delivery Approach – Describe the approach used for architecture, design, development, risk mitigation, and delivery. Include any special considerations related to methodology (e.g., agile, DevSecOps), quality assurance, and communication across cross-functional teams. Highlight how the architect contributed to successful delivery and alignment with enterprise standards.
- 5. Skills and Technologies – Provide a list of the key skills, tools, and technologies applied by the Digital Architect in the project. This may include architectural patterns, development frameworks, integration strategies, cloud platforms, or security practices. Focus on the architect’s role in applying these capabilities to meet business and technical objectives.
