Job summary

Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group is seeking a Data Analyst to support the Investment Data Management (IDM) team, ensuring data accuracy across equity, fixed income, and derivative data to enable modeling, trading and risk monitoring.

You will manage scheduled data transfers, deliver timely data signoffs, and respond to ad-hoc data requests from multiple business partners, while driving data quality improvements in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field; MBA/CFA/FRM is an asset.
• 2-6 years of experience in investment management with data quality and process management.
• Analytical mindset with ability to break down complex processes and identify root causes.
• Collaborative and effective communicator with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and validate accuracy of equity, fixed income and derivative data across systems to support modeling, trading and risk monitoring.
• Manage scheduled data transfers, vendor data inputs, valuation and benchmarking data for the investment process.
• Deliver timely data signoffs to investment teams and analyze data-quality exceptions.
• Provide analysis on operational needs and ad-hoc data/history requests for multiple business partners.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce risk and improve data quality.
• Support other operational or engineering staff on ad-hoc tasks and projects.

The IDM Team resides within the middle office and is responsible for managing data centric processes and data quality that supports the investment management business. Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group Ltd. What You Will Do

• Maintain and validate accuracy of equity/fixed income/derivative data across multiple systems/databases to enable Investment Manager modeling, trading, and risk monitoring.
• Manage and enable a myriad of scheduled processes for vendor systems, internal and market data transfers, valuation, and benchmarking data inputs to the investment process.
• Deliver timely data signoffs to investment teams; develop and analyze data-quality exceptions and ensure timely resolution.
• Provide analysis on operational needs, ad-hoc data/data-history requests for multiple business partners to support pre- and post-trade portfolio management functions.
• Identify process/workflow improvements to increase operational efficiency, mitigate risk, improve data-quality, and increase service levels provided to stakeholders.
• Supporter of other operational or engineering staff, senior or managers on a variety of ad-hoc tasks and projects.

What You Bring

• You have a degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Business Operations, or a related field. Relevant designation, such as the MBA, CFA, or FRM is an asset.
• 2-6 years of relevant experience in the investment management industry with exposure to securities data, data quality and process management. Hands-on experience working with Bloomberg, FTSE, ICE Bond Edge, Charles River and related financial tools, platforms is an asset
• You possess an analytical mindset and able to break down complex processes into components to logically deduce the root cause of issues in data and technology.
• You have a collaborative spirit that helps you to work well with others and you communicate effectively to team/cross-team members, and upward to key stakeholders.
• You have a passion for advancing the quality, scale, and efficiency of data processes and can take ownership of multiple processes with keen attention to detail.
• You constantly take a critical eye to processes with the goal of finding improvement opportunities and bring an ability to manage multiple projects.

The salary range for this position is $60,000-$90,000. The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation for this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
