The Data Analyst will be part of the Financial System & Workflows Team within the Investment Finance Division, reporting to the Manager, Financial Systems & Workflow. The data analyst will support the development of portfolio analytics capabilities for the Investment Finance team. The role involves developing and supporting BI solutions to facilitate informed decision-making by the division and its stakeholders. The Data Analyst will work with various datasets, employ data analysis techniques, and communicate findings effectively. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and relationship-building skills across business groups. A keen interest in exploring new technologies and implementing innovative solutions will enhance the role's success.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Design and develop dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar BI tools.
  2. Collaborate across functions to understand reporting needs and develop relevant capabilities.
  3. Collect, cleanse, and process data from various sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  4. Analyze data to identify trends and patterns, and report findings.
  5. Review reports and performance indicators to troubleshoot and resolve data issues, adhering to data governance policies.
  6. Explore datasets to derive insights, identify key metrics and KPIs.
  7. Evaluate and recommend solutions to improve analytics and reporting processes.
  8. Conduct gap analysis and suggest process improvements for data quality.
  9. Propose solutions for identified data challenges.
  10. Work with cross-functional teams to address data-related challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 3+ years of experience in financial management and investment support, with relevant application exposure.
  2. University degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
  3. Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or similar.
  4. Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages such as Python, SQL, Alteryx, Power Query, etc.
  5. Strong communication skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  6. Experience in designing and supporting innovative business solutions.
  7. Familiarity with database systems and data storage technologies.
  8. Experience with machine learning and predictive modeling is a plus.
  9. Ability to maintain an innovative mindset in a fast-paced environment.
