Job Summary
Extrada Tech, a tech consulting firm based outside of Toronto, specializing in data analytics, automation, and digital solutions within the Microsoft stack, is seeking anEntry-Level Data Analystto join our team. In this role, you will support client projects by working with modern tools in the Microsoft ecosystem to integrate data sources, build interactive dashboards, and streamline workflows. This is a fully remote position, offering the chance to collaborate with a close-knit, cross-functional team in delivering innovative solutions that help businesses scale and become AI ready. Key Responsibilities
- Data Integration & ETL:Assist in connecting, collecting, and transforming data from various sources (databases, APIs, CRM systems, etc.) into usable formats. Implement ETL processes to ensure clean, consistent, and up-to-date data for analysis and reporting.
- Reporting & Dashboarding:Develop, publish, and maintain intuitive Power BI dashboards and custom reports for clients. Track key performance indicators (KPIs), financial metrics, and operational data, providing actionable analytics that drive informed decision-making.
- Microsoft Power Platform:We often work with clients to implement solutions in the Power Platform stack. This could include a Power Apps, Power Automate flow, or Power Pages. It is a great ecosystem that is enterprise ready.
- Collaboration:Work closely with cross-functional teams – including software developers, technical analysts, and project managers – to design and implement data solutions that align with client goals. Act as a technical partner to stakeholders by integrating seamlessly into their workflows and delivering solutions that meet their specific requirements.
- Continuous Improvement:Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Identify opportunities to enhance existing data processes, improve dashboard usability, and adopt new tools or best practices. Incorporate feedback from clients and team members to refine our solutions over time, ensuring we stay at the forefront of data analytics technology.
Qualifications
- Education:Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field. (Equivalent work experience or relevant certifications will also be considered.)
- Experience:1–2 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related role. This can include internships or co-op experience where you worked with data, reporting, or analytics.
- Analytical Aptitude:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and generate insights that inform business decisions.
- Communication:Good written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable presenting data findings and explaining technical concepts to non-technical team members or clients.
- Team Orientation:A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Eagerness to learn from others and share knowledge. Self-motivated and adaptable, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
Technical Skills
- Power BI:Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI isrequired– able to create dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that are clear and effective. Experience writing DAX measures and working with Power BI Service is required.
- SQL:Working knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating data in relational databases (e.g., writing SELECT queries, joins, aggregations). Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server or Azure SQL Database environment is beneficial.
- Python:Experience with Python for data analysis or automation tasks. Ability to use libraries such as pandas to clean and transform data, or to write simple scripts that automate routine data processes.
- ETL & Data Integration:Understanding of ETL concepts and data pipeline workflows. Experience with any ETL tools or methods (for example, using Power Query, Azure Data Factory, or custom scripts) to merge and transform data from multiple sources is an asset.
- Microsoft Power Platform:Familiarity with the Power Platform (especially Power Automate, and optionally Power Apps) and how it can be used to create automated workflows and integrations.
- Microsoft Tech Stack:General knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem – Office 365 apps (Excel, SharePoint, etc.), Azure cloud services, and Dynamics 365 or other Microsoft data technologies. Prior exposure to tools like Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Microsoft Fabric for data engineering is a bonus (but not required).
