Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Data Analyst Co-op in Canada. You will work with internal teams to support data-driven processes, analyze datasets, and translate insights into business value as part of a hands-on internship.

You will write SQL queries, manipulate data with Python (Pandas/NumPy), build dashboards in Tableau or Power BI, and learn data governance and migration best practices in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in a computer science or related program at a Canadian university.
• Solid foundational knowledge of SQL with ability to write queries for data manipulation, extraction, and analysis within relational databases.
• Familiar with Python for data manipulation (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and automation tasks.
• Strong understanding of core data modeling concepts and data migration methodologies.
• Hands-on experience creating dashboards/reports in visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Proven ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting data analysis from multiple sources, generating reports, and presenting findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Identify data dependencies between systems, conduct validation checks, and perform data audits to verify integrity during migration and integration lifecycles.
• Support data mapping, cleansing, and transformation processes for consistency across source systems.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
• Document data workflows, schemas, and mapping rules to facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Learn and apply best practices in data governance, security, and quality control.
• Proactively identify opportunities to optimize data workflows and improve processes.
