POSITION TYPE FULL-TIME, INTERNSHIP (July 7 – August 29, 2025)
The Data Analysis Assistant will assist in the collection, management, and analysis of data, in particular the development of accurate community maps for all First Nations served by the MFNPS and reports about the activities of the MFNPS detachments. This position will focus on using computer technology to visualize and report data and develop and improve digital maps. Most of the work will be completed in the office at Headquarters. Other administrative functions may be assigned as required.
Applicants are expected to have basic knowledge of standard office computer technology, including email (MS Outlook), word processing (MS Word), and presentations (MS PowerPoint). Experience with spreadsheet applications (MS Excel or Google Sheets) or mapping software would be a definite asset. Applicants will benefit from experience trouble-shooting computer problems.
The Data Analysis Assistant will work under the direction and supervision of the Data / Records Analyst. The assistant will also work with other civilian and sworn members of the MFNPS on a regular basis. The Data Analysis Assistant is expected to communicate effectively with administrative staff and police officers at MFNPS Headquarters and Detachments in person, via email, and over the phone. Reading and writing technical documentation will be required on a regular basis. A willingness and desire to learn will be required to succeed as a Data Analysis Assistant. This non-enforcement role (civilian) supports MFNPS officers and leadership in their duties.
