What can I expect to do in this role?

SteriMax is looking for individuals with a passion in the areas of data governance, master data management and data analytics. This is an entry-level analytics position reporting to the IT Director. Working with business clients and other colleagues, the Data Analyst will document, through data models, the required data to support the business area.

The Data Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the NPL process by documenting, loading, and validating master data across various systems, such as TrackWise and SAP, in compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).

The Data Analyst synthesizes complex data using advanced analytics, data visualizations, and dashboards to evaluate and share progress and results on a given product, project, or program.

The Data Analyst will provide support in the implementation and management of a data governance, data catalogue and master data management framework. The Data Analyst will continue to enhance their core understanding of emerging data and analytics technologies and future trends.

You must demonstrate a passion for business process, workflows, and data modelling along the data pipeline, and you should be capable of working in a team setting to collect, maintain and optimize data to support all critical and GxP activities. We are looking for creative, curious, and analytical team members to join our Team!

You will:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect, validate, and maintain master data between TrackWise, SAP, SQL Server, and BI visualization tools such as SAP SAC and Power BI
  • Perform data cleansing, transformation, loading, and modeling to ensure high-quality, actionable data insights
  • Develop and maintain automated processes using advanced Excel or VBA to streamline workflows, forms, and other business processes
  • Translate complex workflows and concepts into actionable plans for creating new workflows, forms, and data models
  • Continuously learn and adopt new skills, systems, and tools to support evolving business needs
  • Acquire knowledge of business processes and data governance to ensure GxP compliance in a pharmaceutical environment
  • You are attending a college or university completing or have recently completed a degree in Business Administration, Operations, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Life Sciences or a related discipline
  • You have experience collecting and analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations.
  • You have knowledge of data analysis and reporting techniques and methods such as logical and physical data modelling.
  • You have familiarity with terms and practices related to Data Catalogue, Data Governance, Master Data Management and Data Ownership.
  • You have strong communication skills to participate in team discussions, make solution recommendations and document/explain your work.
  • You are comfortable transforming ideas through user research and analysis to create better data insights and visualizations.
  • You have experience with visualization software and data tools to create charts and graphs. Familiarity with the following tools would be an asset:
    • Microsoft PowerBI, SAP SAC or other cloud-based analytical tools
    • Excel/VBA
  • You have experience with low-code/no-code platforms like Microsoft Power Apps or Salesforce would be desirable.
  • You have some experience working with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL server and ETL tools.
