YOUR NEW ROLE
The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from various departments within the organization, in addition to external data sources. The primary objective is to centralize and stablish a cohesive and efficient data management system that supports the organization's mission and objectives. The Data Analyst will collaborate with representatives from each department to identify data requirements and design strategies for integrating and optimizing data workflows. The consolidated data hub will empower BCNPHA to leverage its diverse data ecosystem, driving informed strategic decision-making.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
· Collect and document data from multiple departments and external sources.
· Scrub data to detect and correct inaccuracies and redundancies.
· Collaborate with data committee representatives to understand their data requirements and provide solutions.
· Develop and maintain relational databases and data systems to centralize information.
· Create reports and dashboards to visualize data and support decision-making.
· Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security in partnership with the IT Department.
· Facilitate the implementation of data governance policies and best practices by leading the change management efforts to ensure successful long-term adoption across the organization.
· Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
· Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of data integration strategies.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Education requirements
1. Must have a bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience requirements
1. Must have 1-3 years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role.
2. Must have experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).
3. Must have knowledge of data governance and best practices.
Technical skill requirements
1. Must be proficient in data analysis tools and software (e.g. SQL, Excel, Python).
2. Must be familiar with web automation using Selenium or Power Automate.
3. Familiarity with the housing sector or customer relationship management (CRM) platforms like iMIS is considered an asset.
Soft skill requirements
1. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make actionable recommendations based on data insights.
2. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
3. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

This is a temporary one-year position. The salary range for this position is $53,600 to $67,000, and it will be determined based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
· Flexible work schedules involving the occasional evening/weekend work due to participation in project events.
· Some travel throughout British Columbia required.
