We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to deliver analytical and operational insights through quantitative modelling and performance measurement of point-of-sale data across food and beverage retail and catering operations at BC Place Stadium & Vancouver Convention Centre .

Sodexo Live! is the Official Supplier of Food and Beverage Services to the Vancouver Convention Centre and BC Place Stadium. As British Columbia's flagship convention centre and stadium, these facilities host hundreds of events / year and welcomes hundreds of thousands of attendees each year, while generating significant economic activity for the Province.

The Data Analyst is responsible for generating, analyzing, and interpreting data to create strategic, actionable recommendations that support business growth. This role requires developing customized approaches to complex business challenges, integrating point-of-sale and catering data, and assisting in optimizing pricing, distribution, promotions, and sales strategies.

The Data Analyst will provide essential analytical support for food and beverage operations at BC Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre, working closely with stakeholders to drive insights and improve performance. This role demands strong technical, strategic, communication, and reporting skills across data analysis, research, and project management.

  • Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics
  • Generate standard and customized reports, dashboards, and datasets
  • Analyze pricing strategies and menu item performance to optimize revenue
  • Compile and interpret industry and consumer trends to inform strategic planning
  • Support sponsorship and partnership insights through targeted reporting
  • Recommend and implement technology enhancements to support growth
  • Partner with Operations and Sales teams to define and track performance metrics
  • Define relevant KPIs, establish market segmentation, and implement performance tools
  • Develop business reviews and impact reports to monitor growth and consumption trends
  • Recommend tactical opportunities, flag performance alerts, and contribute to long-term strategic planning
  • Support yield optimization through pricing and capacity analysis to maximize profitability
  • Gather, organize, and analyze data related to sales, inventory, customer behavior, and market trends
  • Identify insights into customer preferences, purchase frequency, and price sensitivity
  • Provide data-driven recommendations for menu engineering, inventory management, and demand forecasting
  • Use analytics to guide decisions in product development, pricing, and marketing strategies
  • Tracking customer preferences through surveys and point-of-sale data.

Qualifications / Skills :

  • Bachelor's degree and / or appropriate combination of education and experience to support on-the-job effectiveness.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising appropriate skills for effective judgment, creative problem solving and taking initiative.
  • Technologically savvy, with high proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs and breadth of knowledge with POS systems and large database applications..
  • Demonstrated success in interfacing with a variety of organizational functions and divisions to accomplish tasks.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management; Ability to promote and participate in team environment concepts.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and, on several tasks, projects simultaneously, and who can contribute to functional areas of the business outside of retail operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Initiative in identifying and resolving problems timely and effectively.
