Data Analyst

This Data Analyst position will support the Operations (Client Services, Back Office Administration, IT) teams at CI Financial by delivering insights that help optimize operational performance, effectiveness and efficiency. Reporting to the Director, Business Analytics & Insights, this individual will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and reporting data to support strategic decisions that drive operational effectiveness and strengthen relationships with internal stakeholders. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, data-driven individual who is passionate about using analytics to make a tangible impact on operational success.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Collection and Analysis: Gather, organize, and analyze operational data related to process performance, resource utilization, and service delivery to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
2. Performance Reporting: Develop and maintain regular operational reports and dashboards for operations leadership, focusing on process efficiency, resource allocation, and performance against key metrics.
3. Insights for Operational Efficiency: Provide data-driven insights on operational performance, helping to identify areas for improvement and optimize operational strategies.
4. Data Quality and Integrity: Work with the data engineering team to ensure data accuracy and integrity, performing regular data checks and troubleshooting discrepancies.
5. Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform ad hoc analyses as requested by the operations team or leadership to address specific questions, test hypotheses, and support strategic initiatives.

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Mathematics, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related area.
2. Experience: 2+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or operations analytics, preferably within a financial services or B2B environment. Background in Client Services or Back Office administration an asset.
3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
4. Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills, with a proven ability to interpret data and create actionable insights.
5. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to data accuracy and ability to work with large data sets to ensure data quality.
6. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings in a clear and impactful way for business stakeholders.
7. Problem-Solving: Proactive problem-solver with the ability to think critically and provide data-driven solutions.

1. Experience in asset management or a related financial services field.
