The Opportunity:

Postmedia is seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst who is passionate about leveraging data to drive business success. This role is critical in delivering high-quality data and analytics solutions across the organization, ensuring data-driven decision-making at all levels. The ideal candidate will apply their strong analytical and technical expertise to extract valuable insights from complex datasets, helping to shape and optimize business strategies.

By analyzing digital audience behavior, media performance, and other key metrics, this individual will play a vital role in identifying trends, uncovering opportunities, and providing actionable recommendations. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, editorial and sales, to ensure that data insights translate into impactful business decisions.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights that drive business decisions.
  2. Deep dive into digital web/ mobile app data to explore hypotheses, conduct research, and present data-driven outcomes to stakeholders.
  3. Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations while validating data to ensure its accuracy and integrity for informed decision-making.
  4. Perform A/B testing and hypothesis testing to evaluate the effectiveness of business strategies and determine the most successful approaches.
  5. Collaborate with Postmedia's marketing team to analyze data, conduct testing, and optimize marketing strategies to increase subscription conversions.
  6. Work closely with editorial and content teams to analyze content performance and suggest data-driven improvements.
  7. Work closely with the product team to analyze user behavior, identify opportunities for optimization, and support the development of new features or improvements.
  8. Support ad hoc analysis requests to address key business questions.
  9. Convert complex data insights into clear, actionable reports and presentations while collaborating with stakeholders to drive data-informed business decisions.

Who You Are:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  2. 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field.
  3. Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and analysis.
  4. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  5. Familiarity with statistical techniques, A/B testing, and hypothesis testing.
  6. Knowledge of Python for data analysis (preferred but not required).
  7. Experience with Data Science and modeling (preferred but not required).
  8. Experience in the media or digital advertising industry is a plus.
